Severe Storms with Large Hail and Damaging Winds this Afternoon and Eve. Baltimore and Washington May Get Hit!
· Henry Margusity -- Chief Meteorologist
A potent upper level system will move across the eastern Great Lakes this afternoon producing a band of severe storms from New York to West Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic. Indications are that storms will develop this afternoon and hit the Appalachians first with damaging winds, large hail and perhaps a brief tornado. The storms will move out of the Appalachians into the I-95 corridor this evening with damaging winds, large hail and perhaps a tornado. The rotation tracks show the large hail and tornado potential going from western Pennsylvania into Maryland and The Dalmarva. Baltimore and Washington could get hit hard this evening. The storms will settle down prior to midnight.
